Shaved Steak Kabobs with Dates & Lemon
These Shawarma Steak & Date Skewers are a bold and unexpected twist on the classic kebab. Featuring tender strips of shaved steak marinated in Beituti’s delicious Shawarma Marinade, each skewer is layered with sweet Medjool dates and citrusy lemon slices for the perfect balance of savory, sweet, and tangy. Grilled in just minutes and threaded using a clever double-skewer method, these juicy kebabs are a show-stopping addition to any summer cookout or weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
1 lb shaved steak (ribeye or NY strip both work great)
4 tbsp Beituti Shawarma Marinade
2 lemons, thinly sliced into circles (remove seeds)
12 Medjool dates
12 wooden skewers (soaked for at least 30 mins — you’ll need 2 per skewer!)
Instructions
1. Marinate the steak in Beituti Shawarma Marinade
2. Use two skewers side by side. Take a strip of marinated steak and weave it back and forth across both skewers in a zigzag pattern — like you’re lacing a ribbon. This helps hold the loose meat in place and makes it easier to grill and flip.
3. Fold a lemon slice in half and skewer it
4. Add a date, then repeat the pattern
5. Grill for 3 minutes per side and you’re done!
