Ingredients

  • 1 block extra firm tofu

  • 1 tablespoon Beituti Shawarma Marinade

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional but recommended)

  • Neutral oil for cooking

Directions

  1. Wrap tofu in a clean towel or paper towels. Place something heavy on top and press for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture. A tofu press also works.

  2. Cut tofu into cubes. Add to a bowl or zip top bag with the shawarma marinade and cornstarch. Toss gently until evenly coated.

  3. Option 1. Crispiest method

  7. Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for about 15 minutes, until firm and crisp on the outside.

  8. Option 2. Easier sheet pan method

  9. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C)

  10. Spread tofu on a parchment lined sheet pan.

  11. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until golden and lightly crisp.
